How do I button the jacket of my suit?
The rule of how to properly apply a suit jacket is based on an old rule and is still used today. King Edward VII was the “creator” of this rule.
In short:
- A jacket with a button: the button is closed
- A jacket with two buttons: the upper button is closed, the lower button is left open
- A jacket with three buttons: The top button can be closed, the middle button is closed, the bottom button is left open
